Some pictures.

It has been two weeks since my last post, and while I have not yet finished writing my summary of the observations from these last two weeks, I did not want to keep some of the latest pictures from you.

The following pictures are from the last two weeks, and give an impression of a walk through my neighborhood and an evening visit to the Bund last weekend, and this weekend’s outing to the World Financial Center (which is the highest observatory deck in the world, apparently) and the stroll along the riverfront.

A picture of my 'hood':

and another one:

The Bund at night:

and south

and across the river

The World Financial Center from the ground:

The view from above:

the Jin Mao Building from above (it looks so small ;)

A different view on the Oriental Pearl TV Tower:

After taking the ferry accross the river, I walked the Bund riverfront from south to north. The Bund Promenade has been completely redone, and was opened to the public for the first time today. You can guess how busy it was...

View of Pudong from the south side of the Bund Promenade:

halfway up the Promenade:

more zoomed in (I was all the way up there!)

At the north point of the Bund Promenade stands the "Monument to the People's Heroes". It's unmistakenly Communist is its design...

and the locals like taking pictures of it:
