However, once arrived at Schiphol airport, I became aware of the fact that the flight would be substantially delayed. Bummer.

Anyway, once we had taken off, all was well and the flight smooth. My colleague Saukat was so kind to come and pick me up from the airport with his driver, and bring me to my hotel.
First impression of Shanghai? Well, its big. It was also very foggy, so I didn't see much else... Of course I took the obligatory picture from the window of my hotel for the comparison shots:

After freshing up at the hotel, I went for a little stroll around the block. Now, because the hotel is close to the Philips office, and the Philips office is in some commercial estate area, the walk was not too interesting, albeit with Chinese cars, mopeds, and people everywhere ;). It was nice to get some fresh air and stretch my legs a bit. Frtunately, even the sun came out a bit:

Tomorrow they'll show me my appartment for the coming months.
